Something About Birds

Something About Birds

When Seagulls return each spring my spirits lift

Watching them ride the wind currents cleansing the earth

Renewal fills my being

Doves tails pure as cotton cloud silk bring hearts and hands together

The Meadowlarks jubilant notes, my father cheers me from another sphere

When Mary left this plane, two eagles soared above the funeral home

Dancing and twisting, higher and higher they flew towards the aura of light

Canadian Geese fly together never leaving anyone behind

They form an arrow guide encouraging their friends with chiming chants

toward their future nests

When precious Princess our tuxedo cat passed away

An unusual black and white humming bird came to the window a few days later

It hovered, watching

Unlike the rest of the creatures of the earth birds have learned to defy it's pull

and soar in loftier places above the rest

They encourage us to spread our wings and sing

Something beyond words

Speaks through birds

Rob and I on Halloween

Rob and I decided to dress up like gypsies on Halloween. Here is a picture of our costumes:
